An bhlian seo caite thosaíomar club Gaeilge sa scoil. Bhí sé ar siúl ar feadh uair a chloig taréis am scoile. Rinneamar go leor cluichí, ceoil agus dráma. I mbliana beidh sé ag tosnú arís gach Déardaoin. Tosóidh sé ar an 12ú Márta ag 2:30 go 3:30. Siúlfaidh an bus ag 3:30. 🙂
On Friday we visited Bregenz on the shores of Lake Constance. We had a great day shopping and playing in the park. 🙂
On Tuesday night we had a disco in the dining room and next day we went pony riding. We also played soccer in the park and had great fun on the swings and zip wire. We then packed for our departure on Wednesday morning. We left Schoppernau at 9.30 and moved on to our next destination which is a town called Hard on the river Rhine and very close to Lake Constance. We’re now staying at Junges Youth Hostel, Hard.
Here are some more photos from Schoppernau Adventure Centre which we visited yesterday. When we got back to our accommodation we played football with some of the other pupils and then we found a football table which we played until the torch-light procession which began at 9.30. Some torches were handed out to the pupils and we took turns holding them as we walked around the outskirts of the village. This morning we hiked to a waterfall and took a trek on some of the slopes overlooking Shoppernau. The farmers here are busy saving hay. We had other activities in the afternoon and tonight there will be a disco!
Today we went to Schoppernau. We are staying in an apartment with a kitchenette. The boys have a bunk bed and and taking one night each to sleep on top! For lunch we had vegetable soup followed by spaghetti with red sauce and custard for dessert. Afterwards we travelled by bus to an adventure centre in the mountains. We went on a zip wire across a gorge, walked on rope bridges, learned how to abseil and had a short trek through a forest. There was some snow there but today the weather was nice and warm. Our friends from Hohenheim in Strasbourg arrived in the afternoon and this evening everyone is playing games outside.
Today we had breakfast at 9am. We met our co-ordinator Gerald Grahammer at 9.30. Then we went to Feldkirch by train and visited Schattenburg Castle which is situated high above the town. First we went to the musuem which showed the history of the castle which was built over 600 years ago. Then we went to the castle restaurant for lunch. We all had Schattenschnitzel which is a famous dish from Schattenburg Castle – it’s flattened, breaded chicken which is then fried. Next we went to Wildpark Feldkirch where we saw lots of animals native to Austria. We then had some ice cream and went back to the hotel. The weather is really warm – it was 23 degrees today. We leave for the mountains tomorrow at 7.15! Joseph, Jamie, Thomas 🙂
