2016 Tour to Petersburg!

Posted by Grace On June - 22 - 2016

video

On Monday the 20th we went on our school tour to Petersburg!

We went rock climbing and also built rafts which we sailed on Lough Mask. While building the rafts we learned how to tie four different types of knots. For the rock climbing we had to trust each other… A LOT!

Here are some photos of the trip.

Our Award-Winning Film

Posted by EvanF On April - 8 - 2016

Before Easter, we went to the Odeon cinema in Limerick. Our film (League of Skeletons) was shortlisted from 400 entries for the Fresh Film Festival. Only 38 were shown in the cinema. We left at 7:15am on a bus. The journey took approximately 2 hours but we were delayed because of road works. On the way, we saw Thomond Park, the home of Munster rugby, and the River Shannon. When we got to the cinema we bought sweets and went to the toilet. We sat down in the cinema. We missed 3 or 4 movies because of the road works. There were many great films and two breaks. We won an award for best CGI effects (computer generated images). We got a plaque and our photo taken. On the way home we went to Supermacs to eat. We had a great day out. Watch our film below:

Judges’ comments on our website.

Posted by Grace On May - 2 - 2014

2014 Winner - Best School Website. Here are the judges’ comments on why we won Best School Website:

According to the judges a school website is a window into the life of that school.  This website is not a static brochure but captures vividly the rich variety of activities taking place in the School. The site is based on a blog but utilises a range of tools ranging from RSS to Twitter and Facebook.

Events from every class are represented in pictures, text and videos.  Individual student’s work is also in evidence throughout – some uploaded by themselves.  Parents are accommodated not only through newsletters and Google calendars, but have an online service for school bus, book rental and other payments.  This site demonstrates how comprehensive a school website can be.  What makes this one extra special is the fact that this school is only a 2-teacher school.
