Today we went to Schoppernau. We are staying in an apartment with a kitchenette. The boys have a bunk bed and and taking one night each to sleep on top! For lunch we had vegetable soup followed by spaghetti with red sauce and custard for dessert. Afterwards we travelled by bus to an adventure centre in the mountains. We went on a zip wire across a gorge, walked on rope bridges, learned how to abseil and had a short trek through a forest. There was some snow there but today the weather was nice and warm. Our friends from Hohenheim in Strasbourg arrived in the afternoon and this evening everyone is playing games outside.
Today we had breakfast at 9am. We met our co-ordinator Gerald Grahammer at 9.30. Then we went to Feldkirch by train and visited Schattenburg Castle which is situated high above the town. First we went to the musuem which showed the history of the castle which was built over 600 years ago. Then we went to the castle restaurant for lunch. We all had Schattenschnitzel which is a famous dish from Schattenburg Castle – it’s flattened, breaded chicken which is then fried. Next we went to Wildpark Feldkirch where we saw lots of animals native to Austria. We then had some ice cream and went back to the hotel. The weather is really warm – it was 23 degrees today. We leave for the mountains tomorrow at 7.15! Joseph, Jamie, Thomas 🙂
