School Tours
Senior Room - Thursday, June 21st: Trip to Horizon Adventure Centre, Westport – Bus will carry out the morning run as usual then leave the school for Westport at 8.45am sharp. Bring your own packed lunch. Depart Westport at 4.30pm and pick-up at school. Text will be sent to parents on leaving Westport.

We will choose from a list of 25 activities including climbing/Abseil Tower, Aeroball, Laser Tag and Archery.

Sunscreen if it’s sunny!  The bus will run as usual for Infants at 1.30pm & First/Second/Third class at 2.30pm.  Subsidised cost: €30 per pupil which can be paid online or by cash/cheque (payable to Gortskehy NS).

Middle Room - Friday, June 15th: School Tour to Pureskill Activity Centre, Knocknacarra, Galway. The venue is a weatherproof facility providing a highly entertaining and fun-packed experience Children should wear clothes suitable for various games and sports. 

Lunch is included but each child might like to bring a snack or drink.  Bus leaves school at 8.45am and pupils will be back by 1.30pm. Sunscreen if it’s sunny!  Subsidised cost: €25 per pupil which can be paid online or by cash/cheque (payable to Gortskehy NS).

Junior Room - Thursday, June 14th: School Tour to Graune Pet Farm. Bus leaves school at 9am and the pupils will be back by 1.30pm.  Please apply suncream in the morning if a hot day is forecast. Subsidised cost: €20 per pupil (includes lunch) which can be paid online or by cash/cheque (payable to Gortskehy NS). 

PLEASE NOTE - In this lovely, hot weather children can wear shorts to school. Please apply sunscreen in the morning if required.

End-of-Year Mass
Our end-of-year Mass will take place at the school on Tuesday, June 12th at 12.30pm.  Tea and refreshments afterwards. All welcome.

Summer Holidays

June 22nd @ 12.  The bus will run at 12 but as all pupils finish together if any parent is in a position to collect his/her child that would be great. 

McCarten Cup & Heaney Shield
The McCarten Cup and Heaney Shield Competition will take place at Hollymount Pitch on Wednesday 13th June at 7.00pm.

In both competitions Roundfort National School will play an amalgamated team from other schools in the parish.

New Entrants' Morning

New entrants for September 2018 are invited to join the Junior Room on Tuesday, May 29th from 8.50am to 12 noon. There is no need for the children to wear a school uniform. This will serve as an introduction to the school, classroom and fellow classmates.

Patricia Hennigan - SNA

Patricia Hennigan is a great addition to our school and has slotted in seamlessly.

Patricia is an experienced SNA and we warmly welcome her into the school community.

Summer after-school
The after-school will run during the summer on Wednesday afternoons and Thursday/Friday mornings. If you are interested in using the service on these or other days please contact Olivia McDonagh on 086 0898329. Fee is €4.50/hr/child reduced to €4/hr/child for two children and €3.50/hr/child for three children.

After-school Assistant
If anyone is interested in becoming an after-school assistant please contact the school or Olivia McDonagh on 086 0898329.

Re-selling Your Child's Uniform
Our online shopping cart has been updated to make it easy for you to sell items of your child's uniform. You don't need a PayPal account or credit card as items shown online can only be reserved. Here is how it works:

Seller - Email a photo of your item to eolas@gortskehy.com  Include size, other relevant details and a contact number (your name and number will not be posted on the website).  Price can be discussed with the purchaser later.

Buyer - Log on to your shopping basket at gortskehy.com/shop. If there is any item for re-sale you will see it listed. Select a uniform item for sale and click on its image to view full details.  Click 'Reserve Item' and then checkout.  Enter your contact details and click 'Continue'.  You don't need a PayPal account or credit card as you will not be charged.  You will simply be emailed contact details of the seller for you to complete the transaction personally.

Pupil Art Exhibition
Art ExhibitionPupil Art Exhibition will take place on Thursday 24th May. This framed exhibition showcases and celebrates the creative art work that pupils have been working on this term in all classes.

We would like to invite all parents, families and members of our community to come and view the wonderful art on display by our talented pupils. There will be an opportunity to view and purchase the artwork on Thursday 24th from 1.30 – 5.30pm and in the evening from 6.30pm – 7.30pm.

Each pupil will also receive a free class photo. A percentage of the proceeds will go the school so all support greatly welcome.

Prices for framed art:
1st framed print – €15
2nd framed prints – €12
3rd + framed prints – €10
