At the moment the number of pupils on the roll in September 2015 will be 54.
The threshold for a third classroom teacher is 56 and we are currently in the
process of applying to the Department for an extra classroom. They have
requested that all parents intending to enrol a child in September 2015 complete
our enrolment form as soon as possible so that copies can be forwarded to the Department
in support of our application.
If you know of parents who have yet to call but intend to enrol a child in September 2015 or
subsequent years please ask them to contact the school in January if possible -
0949364301. Please note that this should not be seen as an incentive to send a
child who is not ready for school. With increasing classroom numbers it is even
more important that new entrants are at a stage of development where they are
ready to start primary school. If you're in any doubt consult your childcare
provider.
Eleven families living more than 3.2km
from the school were approved in
December to receive a Remote Area Grant
towards the cost of the bus. Parents pay
the school as per usual with the grant
being calculated at the end of the year
and
based on the number of days your child
got the bus. Those parents will need to
re-apply in March for 2015-16 and will
receive an application form beforehand.
Credit Union
A representative from
Claremorris Credit Union will
visit the school on Monday next
(19th) to introduce the pupils
to the Primary School Savings
Scheme and process the
applications already received.
The Credit Union will attend the
school every fortnight to give
the children an opportunity to
save their money.
If you have mislaid the form and
would like your child to join
just let the class teacher know.
Parent-teacher Meetings
Parent-teacher meetings will take place
on Wednesday & Thursday the 4th and 5th
of February. Morning
slots are also available Monday -
Thursday.
