Online Payment Facility
A secure online payment facility is now available here for the school bus/rental/insurance etc. You can use your credit card or ATM debit card to pay. Card processing will be handled by PayPal and you don’t need a PayPal account. No record of your card details will be held on our site at any stage. You must first register here on our website to view the complete list of services that can be paid for online.

School Uniform – parents voted to keep a crested (free), school uniform in 2014.
Available from the National Schoolwear Centre in Tuam or Newtown Embroidery, Ballindine. PE is Tuesday (Junior room) and Friday (Junior & Senior room) weather-permitting.
Boys: Maroon V-Neck Crested Jumper, Grey elastic junior trousers, White (polo) shirt with collar. Boys PE: Maroon Crested sweatshirt, maroon microfibre bottoms.
Girls: Maroon Crested Cardigan, Grey pocket pleat pinafore, White (polo) shirt with collar, Grey knee-high socks or grey tights. Girls PE: Maroon Crested sweatshirt, maroon microfibre bottoms.
School Opens: 8.30am; Classes commence: 8.50am.
Closing Time: 2.30pm (Junior & Senior Infants – 1.30pm) Bus Service available.

October 29th – November 2nd, 2018: Mid-term break. Classes resume on Monday, November 5th.
December 21st, 2018: School closes for Christmas holidays. Re-opens on Monday, January 7th.
February 21st & 22nd, 2019: Mid-term break.
March 18th (Monday), 2019: Public Holiday.
April 15th – April 26th, 2019 – Easter holidays. Classes resume on Monday, April 29th.
May 6th (Monday), 2019 – Public Holiday.
June 3rd (Monday), 2019 – Public Holiday.

Information for Parents of Incoming Junior Infants

An After-school & Homework Club is available daily from 1.30 to 6.30pm as required. The service is also available during school holidays. It is managed by Olivia McDonagh and Fiona Varley. Olivia is an experienced after-school manager with a Montessori Diploma, High Scope Childcare Certificate and Food/Hygiene certification. Fiona has a BA in Social Care Practice, Child Protection training and experience in the area of childcare provision. A weekly structured programme is provided including a hot meal for pupils staying after 2.30pm. The completion of homework is also supervised.

Swimming classes are organised for all pupils from First to Sixth class. Classes take place at Claremorris Swimming pool during school hours for six to seven weeks after Halloween.
Cumann na mBunscol & Spikeball
The senior children participate in Cumann na mBunscol Mini-Sevens in October and Football competitions in May/June. They also compete in the Mayo Spikeball league in February.
Health Services Executive
The school accommodates the various Health Screening Schemes available to all national schools from the HSE.
First Holy Communion and Confirmation
Children in Second Class are prepared for First Confession and First Holy Communion annually. Confirmation takes place every two years.
It is important that parents are involved in their children’s education. Formal Parent-Teacher meetings are usually held in November but any parent may call, phone or e-mail to make an appointment to discuss any issue relating to their child.
